Barricade Battle Event Guide

Apologies for the delay on this guide. This event is a bunch of chaos mixed with various factors that change the way you should play.

Let me start off by saying this event is actually much more Free-To-Play friendly than most events that TW happens to offer.

Here's why:

1. You are awarded ~1,000 units for doing tasks on a daily basis.
a. The premium equivalent of acquiring 1,000 units is equal to spending 10 times which would cost (50,100,150,200,250,300,350,400,450,500 Premium PER DAY)
z. That would cost you 2,750 premium per day just to match the free-to-play equivalent

2. Event battles act on a decreased ROI over time.
a. For each WIN in a battle, your opponent increases by over 50% while you can only increase your troops to fight by 20%.
b. Imagine you were only allowed to use a 3,000 axes and 1,000 LC nuke on 10,000 spears and 10,000 swords.... Not very effective.

Now let's go over how many troops you will be able to have every day, using the free-to-play method.
u1egRzl.png

By using exactly $0,00 or 0.00 Premium Points on this event, you will be able to use around 315,000 units to fight.

This spreadsheet took me a damn long time, but if you didn't optimize routes for spending troops, it should cost ~214,000 units to complete the entire barricade if you fill in troops every time. If you averaged around the 25% attack bonus when fighting your enemy, you'd only have to spend ~160,000 units in the first run.
VXpDtXD.png

So if you go complete free-to-play you will most likely be able to complete the barricade at least once if you attack with all 3 heals and use your troops wisely to avoid leftover runoff.

Here is an excel sheets to show the maximum efficiency of spending premium on this event.

If you want to spend 2,000 Premium Points total I suggest following this path.
dQy8dm0.png

Units
ke9mXAZ.png

Medics

Total Unit Value

2fnZMAq.png

You'll end up with around 54% more units by spending 2,000 Premium.

If you want to spend 6,000 Premium Points total I suggest following this path.

dqk3xeu.png

Units

M6fTZqN.png

Medics

Total Unit Value
jaCwouE.png

You'll end up with around 120% more units by spending 6,000 Premium.

This should give you a general understand if you want to scale past 6,000 Premium spent. Just keep being smart about it and follow the Effectiveness Values for each. I also suggest still buying units even on the last days, because you receive additional ducats for buying units.

Here's the average Ducats you'll receive from the purchase of Units.

td38IqD.png

WwcJMcl.png

Moral of this story... Don't spend premium trying to get those ducats for warehouse. Is 674 Premium Points... The best option worth it for 10% Warehouse? Maybe, but then the rest are nowhere near worth it.

IMPORTANT:The Best Stages To Earn Ducats Based on Units Lost / Ducats Earned

m3iKheE.png

When doing multiple stages, you'll want to complete the ones at the top the most times.

Additional Information YOU SHOULD KNOW:

1. Since daily rewards offer up to 1,000 ducats for the highest place, you want to play STRATEGICALLY

Don't complete as many barricades as you can per day. If you beat rank 2 by over 5 barricades, those barricades are going to get 50% harder for future tries. This will make your attempts at rank 1 even harder in the future.

Once you've secured a top spot, start using the rest of your troops to hit the harder barricades so you'll be prepared for the next day and you'll have spare easy barricades to beat your opponents rankings with in the future.

2. You either enter a barricade group depending when you're online or when you first start the event for the day... (I'm unsure which is correct).
You also are paired against ~50 or so players from the world per day. These players are changed every day.
If you don't want to be put into a barricade with Blowguner, No Limit or other top spenders on the server who watch barricades 24/7, don't open the event until a few hours after the event refreshes for the day. The longer you wait, the easier and less active players you'll be paired up against..... Unless other people copy this method.

3. If you complete every stage at least once, you will receive 43,770 ducats. Spend them wisely.

4. Here is a listing of the top 5 items based on value provided compared to their ducats cost. If you buy anything else, you're a sucker and should reconsider your playstyle or read some of my other guides.

Rank 1. 10% Warehouse. 10% and 30% cost the same ratio wise. 10% offers more flexibility. Don't be dumb, buy the 10%'s
7xwZ57B.png

Rank 2. 30% Warehouse. Although I suggest never buying this because 10% is same ratio and offers best flexibility when using.

ZMfCxcK.png

Rank 3. Flag Booster. This helps with mass minting of coins and will be a lifesaver if you're combining this with Warehouse % and massively minting 100's of coins early, mid or even lategame.

F4wffIZ.png

Rank 4. Catapult Damage booster. I bet you didn't expect this item? This is one of the best lategame items if you're cat-OPing your opponents. It will help destroying farms and really lower the morale of the enemy and IT'S CHEAP IN THIS EVENT.

Only good as a lategame item, and if your tribe uses Cat-OP strategies + FANG's

NjYjuu1.png

Rank 5. Nothing else, everything else sucks for its value. Don't dare try and convince me otherwise.

u6JDbsn.png

Farm 10%? No. That will cost you the equivalent of 37% Warehouse. In no world is a scaled 37% warehouse ever better than 1 village with 10% farm.

War Chest? No. That will cost you the equivalent of 40% Warehouse. With a flag doubler and 40% warehouse, you can make about 10 coins per village. Do you want 1 coin, or 10 coins per village?

Other Garbage they threw in there? No. Unless you really don't care about your account and just want to have fun with other items, don't buy anything else.

Hopefully you enjoyed this guide as much as I got bored while making it.

Hopefully Innogames will provide a real developmental server to test events in the future besides Tribalwars.works which doesn't even provide you with premium as a beta server....

Have a great day,

If you are wondering how I calculated the units to attack in each of the fights from the big spreadsheet estimating battle between User & Barricades...

I attacked with 1 Nobleman (30 General Attack) per 1 Light Cavalry (30 General Defense) and added 2 Spears attacking to combat "Village Base defense" of 20.

The numbers can be minorly skewed but should provide almost identical math to attacks.

I didn't consider the individual attacks and weaknesses of all 5 units (Would take me over a week) because they should average out over time when fighting your enemies. I also included the 25% bonus to help show users what it would look like if they attacked optimally most of the time.

Felt like torturing myself a bit more.

Here is the total amount of average troops necessary to complete each Barricade a 2nd time.

0lql3PW.png

This includes the average ducats per troops expended as well.

While the enemy's troops increase by 50%, you will actually have to spend ~59% more troops in the second barricade to deal with it's increased difficulty. Bless your soul if you try to complete everything a second time.
