The Future
The recent trend towards 3D technology can't have gone unnoticed. Movies were only the first step - it is now time for the Gaming industry to step forward and set the new 3D benchmark. We know what you've all been thinking - we've been thinking it too. 3D technology would be perfect for TribalWars!

This idea is very new, but we're so excited by recent developments that we had to give you a sneak peek! The concept art is still very rough, but we've included a picture below which gives a good general outline of how the basic interface will be changed.

We will even be replacing the current TribalWars logo with this:

1. 3D Battle Animations:
Due to the overwhelming success of the new battle images in reports, we have decided to develop a new animation for every battle. Each one will be hand crafted to depict the outcome of the report, giving a realistic representation of the battle. You may substitute your army with Orks from the lord of the rings, but there will be no Brave-heart characters available (ffrreeeedddoooommmm). We understand however that users may not want to see the whole battle, so we will be including a "fast forward" button so that you can skip to the interesting bits or a "skip all" to avoid the whole thing. The fast forward option can also be accompanied by the Benny hill theme song. Once the battle is over, the end result will be shown as normal (in 3D!) on a report sheet so that you can review the battle at your leisure.

2. 3D Movement Tracking on the map:
Ever wonder where your troops are at any time? Ever wonder what it would look like if you could see your troops en route to other villages? Well, soon you can! With the new Map Troops feature, you will be able to watch your troops march across the map from one village to another. Our QA people say its pretty boring to watch them walk, but what do they know. Not only that, but our developers are also working on a system by which if you hover your mouse over the icon for any one band of troops, you will be able to see the number of troops, their remaining travel time, and the type of action (Attack, Support, Hanging out), all in exciting new 3D technology!

Development Notes
Given the enormity of the task we've set ourselves - turning TribalWars' interface 3D - we will be forced to abandon our current efforts to improve browser performance until further notice. Developmentally, we're also not going to be able to deliver both a full 3D and a full non-3D version of the game. That means, unfortunately, that anyone not in the possession of a 3D monitor will find themselves playing with something approaching the double image you may recognise from peeking at 3D films without the 3D glasses. Depending on your computer's video card, we fear it may be completely unplayable. If this does turn out to be the case, we hope to have a low-maintenance completely text-based version which might be feasible as a side project to cater for those who simply can't get a 3D monitor. Let it not be said that InnoGames doesn't cater to the poor! Text-based version will likely require an extra premium donation to activate.

Hardware
We're well aware that at least 17% of our current playerbase do not own a monitor capable of the truly 3D images we've been working on. No need to worry! Especially for that minority, we've managed to cut a deal with you with a screen manufacturer in South Africa. Providing them with your username will give you a 10% discount on their standard deal of $649.95 for a 13" 3D monitor. Less is more folks ;). That's not all! All discounted shipments come with our TribalWars "Crow Logo" emblazoned on the side. Contact details will follow. Shipping, handling and logo-usage costs not included.

We look forward to your continued support and dedication, and hope you are as excited about the upcoming changes and foolishly awesome graphics as we are. If you would like to find out more please click on the link below:
