Virus coming in through TW?

I'm not sure if you're aware but the 2012 version of the XP Antivirus may be invading people's computers through your websites. Both the in-game and TW Stats page.

This is the third computer in one month which has been contaminated for me. It is a particularly nasty virus which attempts to dupe victims into spending money on a fictional "XP Antivirus" software.

Have you heard from other players about this? The first time seemed a coincidence, the second suspicious, now I'm sure that one way or the other your game is being used as a vehicle for this virus to spread.

I havent seen any tickets related to this, nor have I personally experienced it for myself. I will forward this information on to the powers that be for them to look at. In the future, please send in a ticket for this kind of thing.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Nope maybe it is something with none premium users an the ads in game though causing it?

No problems here, and I don't have premium. But I don't click on the ads, either

I hate to say it but about a week ago I got this virus. I believe it came through this game. To reply to Mashman, I don't click on ads either. Also I think it may have something to do with cross-site scripting as I get the message a lot. By the way does anyone know how to get rid of it? I think I may have but I'm not sure.

We have had no other reports of this issue on our server. If it were coming in through the game, one would think it would be more widespread. We have thousands of players and this is only the 2nd report of such.

If anyone else is experiencing this issue, please report it via the in game ticket system.

There's no way tw spreads viruses.Just because 2 players got viruses doesn't mean they're from tw.Plus,if you don't click on ads you can't get viruses from them.So,unless inno games is interesting in spreading viruses to a few players(unlikely) you 2 got the virus from somewhere else.

But,maybe you guys tryed to get free premium from inno sponsors.Or maybe you're antivirus doesn't work well ...

If I'm correct, the way the game is played means there is a 0% chance of getting a virus through TribalWars, as long as you don't click outside links.

It's enough to only access a site to get a virus.Even google spreads viruses.I remember there was a clip on youtube which shown me different skins of google.All you had to do was search them.I searched google gothic and got redirected to another kind of google.15 seconds later...Virus detected

The fact is you guys probably already had a virus on your computer an didnt know it and it just so happened to show its ugly head during something you where doing on TW. Either that you where one of the few people that actually click links on those mass mails that occasionally come out from people on this game that says hey try my game its better

I've played this game for.. is it 8 years now? (Anyone remember when .net opened up? :p) Never one virus related. I highly doubt it is the game itself, maybe an external link you clicked, download, something of that sort.

Or maybe tw players sending you via messenger keyloggers or stuff like that while you are on tw.Well,not only keyloggers because they aren't detected but a virus.Everyone who gets a virus should check they're history.

Usually hacking websites(I mean websites with hack tutorials) and po#n can have viruses.

But does .us have ads on?I never saw one.I use premium but even when it expired I didn't saw any ads ...
Even if it does,this topic can be closed because it's really obvious tw doesn't spread viruses.And if it does,inno programers probably done that on purpose(really unlikely).

Dase, there are ads on the righthand side of the page when you are logged in, but I can't even see them on my computer unless I scroll to the right since the page is too wide lol

Than I haven't noticed them.I only ran out of premium for an hour on this world and I don't pay much attention to details ...


But anyway ads can't spread viruses unless you click on them.

I have had a virus come through .NET, not by adverts, but it came through TW. Unaware of .US having viruses though, yet. Also a moderator on .NET said he got a virus from TW. Again, not .US, but thought I'd put that out there.

NO Virus' have come through Tribalwars.net or Tribalwars.us.


I suggest those affected check their anti virus as they are not coming through Tribalwars.
