So apparently you have to have a separate login for forums and the game. Wtf is this?

Also, has anyone managed to calculate the optimal scavenging solution? I did something and calculated that the time per retrieved resources was almost directly correlated for all of the scavenging types. I calculated the retrieval and it's nearly linear but not perfectly. However, with linear estimation, the optimal solution seems to be to have an equal amount from each of the scavenging. For example, you receive 1250 from each resource from each scavenging type. Each one would take 4 hours and 8 minutes.

D-G was a joke.We decided to leave a long time ago but only did it now for...no reason actually lol.

But D-G had too many alliances and was a mass recruit tribe.

Death5all I found the equations too, though I think the most important thing is at which level does spears, lc, etc become less productive. I think Report had like a single number wrong in his writing (divided the cost of spear by the carrying capacity instead of the other way around) but because population and resources returned aren't tied together there is no magical solution. Returns of resources is tied to carrying capacity. Though I'm pretty sure their is no such line for unproductivity. Report mischaracterizes only using one option with spears as the only other way but wouldn't, because each tier has a linear slope compared to the % of carrying capacity returned, sending spears in the top level you have and sending the next level (spears>lc>swords>axes=ma=archers>heavy calv) of troops be the most productive? I'll do some math about it and post it here.

This becomes a problem where you characterize the amount of barbs per unit area, the resources/haul, troops/haul, travel time/troop as well as scavenging. Right now I'm just throwing numbers into MATLAB and using a nonlinear multivariable solver to find the optimal solution. At any rate, I think it is best if you focus on building your normal army rather than building a farming army. I can link my scripts and data if anyone wants to take a gander. Alternatively, if people can give me the data for the above questions as well as a more accurate scavenging input haul-time dataset I can solve this problem more accurately.

You guys really take scavenging seriously :D
Farming>Scavenging.
How to scavenge:
Unlock the first 3 scavenging options/frames whatever they're called
Recruit troops
Split your troops among the 2nd and 3rd frame so that the scavenging time of both is equal.Scavenge for a couple of days and by the time unlocking the 4th frame is possible because you have that much res farming will already be better than scavenging so there's no point to argue about what scavenging method is better.
Scavenging can boost you in bp but after bp any active farmer can beat scavenging easily even in bad areas.

The way I see it, scavenging provides a low-stress decent method of getting resources. As it is, I'm pulling 66k resources/day for exceptionally little work. I don't have to worry about spikes or busy areas or really anything. Looking at the highscores, I am rank 43 in resources looted per day as a rank 200 player for doing literally nothing. Not to mention, as a defensive player, my spears trip over rocks on their way to villages.

Edit: Unless you're cheating, how many of you are getting 75% returns on your hauls?

I learned from my mistake and sent my attacks to land 1 hour after their announced break end :D

You are rank 43 in looted in a day with your scavenging, but you also forget the fact that some people scavenge and farm.
So while my in a day ranking shows 30k looted for example and yours 0 but you get 66k from scavenging, I also get 60k from scavenging but overall I'm looting more than you.

But yes, I do agree that scavenging is amazing for defensive players.

So on this world I started with defensive village, so I was not able to clear anything on early stages or farm PP makers. However I did use old good micro-farming, and yes I 100% agree farming > scavenging even for def players. Scavenging is wonderful options and nice addition to the game, but if hands grow out of right place, farming still bring more resources!

We set the times as approx. just in case we have any issues. That is the reason we try not to give the exact times so you guys don't yell if there is a delay or an issue. Hope you all had a great Christmas and got everything that you wanted for all of those that celebrate the christmas holiday.

It is nice to have some kind of time frame, however some folks like myself count very much on exact timing, so we can get ahead by plundering villages full of resources, we spend our time and energy to get into the game and send all troops away, and guess what time is wasted because administration did everything approximately in game when milliseconds matters. I appreciate your and other mods hard work but it is frustrating when to be top player you have to be able to snipe and land support based on millisecond difference and administration can not properly (in my mind) apply changes for almost an hour.

Almost never post on the forums, not since about World 52 of the .net servers. Good to see some life again though and really looking forward to watching this world play out!

I ate the biggest slice of humble pie anyone has ever seen here in this world! Worst part was, with my head stuck so far up my rear that my shoulders could massage my glutes, that frosting on the pie DEFINITELY wasnt chocolate.

I mean, Report is usually number one anyway. The real question is how many trades with the market did you do hutch?

Better ask him how many trades he made with his "fairly" playing tribemates :|
