braces = skunk?

so i got braces last month.
and i was waiting for my train to hit..
so i was touching my braces.
just messing with them.
but then when i pulled my hand out..
and doing the hand on chin thinking pose while tapping the top lip with my fingers..
i smelled something really bad..

and you know how when you put your hand in your mouth pull it out and you can smell your spit?

well thats what it was.

but the thing is... i had just brushed my teeth and did the mouthrinse/wash listerine only a few hours ago.

is this normal or is my mouth/breath smelling really really bad because of the braces??

There's nothing that could make me think it's the braces...unless something is stuck in them. Maybe the mouthwash and brushing flavors contrasted badly ?
