I have a question about mail language. Why we can't talk in any language in our mail?

Because this is an English-speaking server, being the .us server (and the USA's main language being English). If you wish to speak Portuguese, go to the Portuguese server. If you wish to speak German, go to the German server.

You can speak in any language so long as you provide english translation for the entire of what you say. But you have to have the english translation with it.

In Greek servers players can talk in Greek and in English everywhere (mails, forums, profiles). So if the mails are personal, no-one can see them without recipient and In-Game Moderators... Why we can't talk in every language only in our mail?

I agree. It's my problem how I talk.If the guy doesn't understand what I say, report me and get me banned. But if I only talk chineese with chineese guys it shouldn't be a problem, right?

No, it is still a problem because the IG moderators need to be able to comprehend your mails in order to ensure you stay within the game rules.

What you are saying could "be illegal, insulting, threatening, abusive, real-life-aggressive, sexual, politically incorrect, right extreme, religiously fanatic, racist or in any way inappropriate[Game Rules - §5]" and the moderators would not be able to tell because they do not understand Chinese.

Actually,I don't really think mods actually check EVERY mail.I'm sure they don't.

They don´t but... If i report you for somekind of conversation...they need to see if there´s any reason for banning you...if the conversation is in Chinese they can´t do their work...

I think this is simple of understand...

No need for more arguing in my opinion!

Obviously they don't read EVERY mail and I never said they did. The fact is they have the power to read ANY mail, and if they choose to exercise it they need to be able to understand what is being said.

I don't know how the moderation works here, but I know other games have scripts to periodically check for certain offensive words and phrase and flag the mails as needing review by a human moderator. This could avoided by using another language.

So yes, you hypothetically could speak Chinese and the moderators would probably not read your mails and you would be fine. However if the other person ever reported it, or if a moderator happened to notice you need to remember that it is still a rule violation.

As I know the In-Game Moderators check only the mail that a player report... If this mail is in Chinese, they can translate it... Why somebody who doesn't know good English should make the translation? Here you will tell me that if this player don't know good English, he shouldn't play here... But no-one can disallow it to him... There are many mails to translate in a day... Of course I don't say that they are forced to translate mails because they are volunteers. But they can translate the messages that they have as reports... I think that the game rule §5 isn't right... If they can check it why we can't write in an other language? My question is about some of my tribe members who don't know good English... I'd like to have an answer of the In-Game Moderators.

Thanks

Well then don´t use the in-game mail...talk via skype or msn... No-one says you are obligated to know English...they only state that you need to write in English..

I already played a world on .De till i was 5 million points and never had i used the in-game mail in german...(once or twice obviously but in English!)

As has been stated previously . In game support staff need to be able to read all means of communication . If people report illegal content within a forum or mail we have to be able to verify the details .
The staff are not proficient in every language and translators are often not very accurate and this is very time consuming .
English is a widely used language and thus many of the staff on other servers usually have English skills . We can't expect all the staff here to know various other languages .
This is a .us server . English being the language used here . I understand it may be difficult for some people and we have accepted those who find it very difficult posting their language along side an English translation , but this should be limited to small portions of text for those who find it extremely difficult . On a wide scale this would result in a warning for the tribe .
Most people use skype along side in game communication , you can use whatever language you like there .
I have played other servers in other languages and I don't find it too difficult to deal with .
You read and agree to the rules before you begin to play the game . If you can manage to play a game in another language then you can accept the need to use that language to communicate in said game .

So basically,if I'm sure I won't be reported I can't be banned from talking in romanian, right?I mean if both players talk in romanian and none reports the other everything's good.

Why can't the ig mods just use like google chrome. It works well and alot of other servers really don't care what language you speak unless it's a speed round. Its why ban people from different languages if they don't ban us?

Think about that in reverse. Why don't you use a translate program like Google Translate, for all of your mailing? Presumably because errors often occur with those programs. So, it would be the same for google chrome's inbuilt translator. They need to be able to understand what is being said.

Yes, but if there is any offensive phrase or word, they can understand it with these programs!

Not necessarily. There is no translation program that is 100% accurate to the best of my knowledge.
