Nope, I also play the beta version of TW.
The new things are always tested there.
I also can say that the map will have a small change.. And there'll be a new function on your tribe for wars.

If you get bored enough, you watch your anime's

Basically, the new unit is unnecessary. You can't attack with it, it is just for defend.
You can "call" it on your farm, they stay for 6 hours.
I just know the German name, "Miliz".

It is a unit from Grepolis I read.

I know its hard to believe, but even anime can get too much sometimes

That would change to much of the game than they are willing to do at this point imo.
